Freelance graphic design, progamming and development motto

Original ideas, Effective Design, Solid Code. This is what I love, this is what I do.

Design and website programming philosophy

The world does not need another ordinary website. The indexed web contains at least 23.37 billion pages as of Sunday, 27 June, 2010. Yes, that was Billion with a B! With that kind of volume of information text, graphics, videos, graphics, flash websites, audio etc., it's easy to get lost in the mix. You need to be noticed, you need to be remembered. Loaded Concept conceives, implements, promotes, launches, maintains and updates memorable and exciting web experiences that keeps people coming back, and delivers quantifiable results for account managers.

Why our websites and design are different

To put it in a nutshell, Loaded Concept is a one stop digital studio, which is its distinct advantage. A graphic designer who also a programmer is already thinking content management in the creative process, and eliminates markup, slicing, layout and functionality problems. It ensures for a seamless workflow process from concept to delivery. Our clients stay clients.

Design and website programming details

Everthing is in the details. People do notice. And it's what makes a work great rather than good. It's very hard to achieve pixel perfect results, but well worth it. 100% valid W3C compliant, hand written code that displays consistently across browsers and platforms is the only code you can expect.

Design and website development goals

1. To surpass client expectations, by surpassing campaign goals.
2. Achieve program goals. Give website visitors exactly what they want as quickly as possible.
3. Making your audience remember your brand, and what sets it apart.
4. Leaving a positive and memorable first impression.

freelance design and website services in: Toronto, GTA, Durham Region, Halton Region, Peel Region and York Region

Loaded Concept operates mainly freelance in Toronto and The Greater Toronto Area (GTA), comprising of the following regions / municipalities: Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Uxbridge, Scugog, Brock), Halton Region (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills), Peel Region (Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon), and York Region (Aurora, Gwillimbury, Georgina, King City, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Whitchurch - Stouffville).

Website accessibility design and programming

Loaded Concept supports WAI, the Web Accessibility Initiative. Web Accessibility refers to the practise of making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities. When websites are correctly designed, developed and edited, all viewers can have equal access to information and functionality. For example, when a site is coded with semantically meaningful HTML, with textual equivalents provided for images and with links named meaningfully, this helps blind visitors using text-to-speech software and/or text-to-Braille hardware. When text and images are large and/or enlargeable, it is easier for viewers with poor sight to read and understand it. When links are underlined (or otherwise differentiated) as well as coloured, this ensures that color blind viewers will be able to notice them. When clickable links and areas are large, this helps visitors who cannot control a mouse with precision. When pages are coded so that visitors can navigate by means of the keyboard alone, or a single switch access device alone, this helps users who cannot use a mouse or even a standard keyboard. When videos are closed captioned or a alternate language version is available, deaf and hard of hearing users can understand the video. (as defined by Wikipedia).

CMS - content management system template design and development

Loaded Concept prefers to code each website / web page / mircosite from scratch. That doesn't mean we're against CMS software, especially the open source ones. They are very ideal for certain clients. So, Joomla!, Wordpress, Drupal or the dozens of other available ones? Which one is the best? They all have their distinct advantages, it all depends on your specific requirements.

What is graphic design

Graphic design is a collaborative process between a client and a designer — in conjunction with producers of form (i.e., printers, programmers, signmakers, etc.)— to convey a specific message to a targeted audience. The term "graphic design" can also refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines that focus on visual communication and presentation. The field is also often referred to as Visual Communication or Communication Design. Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.

Common uses of graphic design include identity (logos and branding), websites, publications (magazines, newspapers, and books), advertisements and product packaging. For example, a product package might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as shapes and color which unify the piece. Composition is one of the most important features of graphic design, especially when using pre-existing materials or diverse elements.

what is website design

Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, microblogging clients and RSS readers.

The intent of Web design is to create a website—a collection of electronic documents and applications that reside on a Web server/servers and present content and interactive features/interfaces to the end user in form of Web pages once requested.[citation needed] Such elements as text, bit-mapped images (GIFs, JPEGs) and forms can be placed on the page using HTML/XHTML/XML tags. Displaying more complex media (vector graphics, animations, videos, sounds) requires plug-ins such as Adobe Flash Websites, QuickTime, Java run-time environment, etc. Plug-ins are also embedded into web page by using HTML/XHTML tags.

Improvements in browsers' compliance with W3C standards prompted a widespread acceptance and usage of XHTML/XML in conjunction with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to position and manipulate web page elements and objects. Latest standards and proposals aim at leading to browsers' ability to deliver a wide variety of content and accessibility options to the client possibly without employing plug-ins.

Typically Web pages are classified as static or dynamic: Static WebsitesStatic pages don’t change content and layout with every request unless a human (web master/programmer) manually updates the page. A simple HTML page is an example of static content.
Dynamic database driven websitesDynamic pages adapt their content and/or appearance depending on end-user’s input/interaction or changes in the computing environment (user, time, database modifications, etc.) Content can be changed on the client side (end-user's computer) by using client-side scripting languages (JavaScript, JScript, Actionscript, etc.) to alter DOM elements (DHTML). Dynamic content is often compiled on the server utilizing server-side scripting languages (Perl, PHP, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion, etc.). Both approaches are usually used in complex applications.

With growing specialization in the information technology field there is a strong tendency to draw a clear distinction between web design and Web development.

Web design is a kind of graphic design intended for development and styling of objects of the Internet's information environment to provide them with high-end consumer features and aesthetic qualities. The offered definition separates Web design from web programming, emphasizing the functional features of a web site, as well as positioning web design as a kind of graphic design.[1]

The process of designing web pages, websites, web applications or multimedia for the Web may utilize multiple disciplines, such as animation, authoring, communication design, corporate identity, graphic design, human-computer interaction, information architecture, interaction design, marketing, photography, search engine optimization and typography.

Website markup - HTML, XHTML, XMLMarkup languages for websites (such as HTML, XHTML and XML)
Website style sheets, CSS, XSLStyle sheet languages for websites (such as CSS and XSL)
Website client side scripts, JavaScriptClient-side scripting for websites(such as JavaScript)
Website server side scripts, PHP and ASPServer-side scripting for websites (such as PHP and ASP)
Website Database technlolgies - dynamic websites - mysqlDatabase technologies and websites (such as MySQL and PostgreSQL)
Mutlitmedia technologies for websites - flash, actionscriptMultimedia technologies for websites (such as Flash Websites and Silverlight)

Web pages and websites can be static pages, or can be programmed to be dynamic pages that automatically adapt content or visual appearance depending on a variety of factors, such as input from the end-user, input from the Webmaster or changes in the computing environment (such as the site's associated database having been modified).

With growing specialization within communication design and information technology fields, there is a strong tendency to draw a clear destinction between Web design specifically for web pages and Web development for the overall logistics of all web-based services.

Internet marketing

Internet marketing, also referred to as i-marketing, web-marketing, online-marketing or e-Marketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

The Internet has brought media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it not only refers to the Internet, email, and wireless media, but it includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (ECRM) systems.

Internet marketing ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including: design, development, advertising, and sales.

Internet marketing also refers to the placement of media along many different stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, email marketing, and Web 2.0 strategies. In 2008 The New York Times, working with comScore, published an initial estimate to quantify the user data collected by large Internet-based companies. Counting four types of interactions with company websites in addition to the hits from advertisements served from advertising networks, the authors found the potential for collecting data upward of 2,500 times on average per user per month.

email marketing

Email marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses email as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to: email marketing - relationship enhancementsending emails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers and to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business, sending emails with the purpose of acquiring new customerssending emails with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately, adding advertisements to emailsadding advertisements to emails sent by other companies to their customers, and sending emails over the Internetsending emails over the Internet, as email did and does exist outside the Internet (e.g., network email and FIDO). Researchers estimate that United States firms alone spent US$400 million on email marketing in 2006.

webdesign and graphic design freelancer

A freelancer, freelance worker, or freelance is somebody who is self-employed and is not committed to a particular employer long term.

Fields where freelancing is common include journalism, book publishing, journal publishing, and other forms of writing, editing, copy editing, proofreading, indexing, copywriting, computer programming, web design and graphic design, consulting, tour guiding and translating.

Freelance practice varies greatly. Some require written contracts, while others may perform assignments based on verbal agreements, perhaps enforceable through the very nature of the job. Some freelancers may provide written estimates of work and request deposits from clients.

Payment for freelancers also varies greatly. Freelancers may charge by the day, hour, or page or on a per-project basis. Instead of a flat rate or fee, some freelancers have adopted a value-based pricing method based on the perceived value of the results to the client. By custom, payment arrangements may be upfront, percentage upfront, or upon completion. For more complex projects, a contract may set a payment schedule based on milestones or outcomes.

In most professions involving creation of intellectual property, "freelance" and its derivative terms are often reserved for workers who create works on their own initiative, then look for someone to publish them. They typically keep the copyright to their works and sell the rights to publishers in time-limited contracts. In contrast, workers who are hired to create a piece according to the publishers' or other customers' specifications are referred to as "independent contractors" and similar terms.

Benefits of freelancing

Freelancers generally enjoy a greater variety of assignments than in regular employment, and—subject to the need to earn a regular income—usually have more freedom to choose their schedule. The experience can also lead to a broad portfolio of projects and the establishment of a network of clients.

Sometimes a freelancer will work with one or more other freelancers and/or vendors to form a "virtual agency" to serve a particular client's needs for short-term and permanent project work. This versatile agency model can help a freelancer land jobs that require targeted, specific experience and skills outside the scope of one individual. As the clients change, so too may the players chosen for a virtual agency's talent base. This is a common way for freelancers to get projects if the non-competing freelancer in the relationship reciprocates the relevant type of project back assuming that both are in the same industry.[citation needed]

Freelancers and clients may form a relationship based on mutual needs and the professionalism and competence of both parties.
